Newborn Mallie

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – this little girl was my favorite.  Sweet little Mallie was such a doll….and such a good sleeper that we actually had to stir her just to get some big open newborn eyes.  She was lucky enough to be born to the sweetest military couple that you could literally see the love pouring out of them for their little girl.  And their thoughtful pieces that they had available for the shoot – a giant wooden family cradle, a handmade quilt, and the little Carolina blue dress & headband – each one showed a piece of their family.

Cutie Chloe

Shooting Chloe was like watching a supermodel at work.  At one point I looked at my camera and realized I had only been shooting for three minutes and could send her parents every.single. shot.  She just was happy and calm and the perfect little model.  She was a photographers DREAM!  And it helps that she is as cute as a button.  Isn’t she just darling!?  I guess it would be hard to not look amazing with such a beautiful mom…Chloe really hit that lucky gene pool just right 🙂

Beautiful Bella

I have to admit that when I left Bella’s house, I felt like I failed.  My insecurities were running high.  I was afraid that I didn’t capture the precious little girl like she deserved.  And when I got home and started editing…well, I fell in love.  Even though her mom described her as not very smiley at this age, we managed to squeek out some grins (thanks Meaghan for your arm workout!)…and her expressions make this one of my very VERY favorite photoshoots.  Who couldn’t love this little bundle of personality with that head of hair?!  She’s a complete dollbaby.

Magical Madison

Sweet Madison was a complete angel the entire time we spent together.  I absolutely loved the fact that her mama and daddy wanted to do a couple pictures of her on her special quilt – which in a previous life was a grandma’s wedding dress!  You can even see the precious pearls and details creating Madison’s sleeping cacoon!  And her darling parents were so enamored with her…it’s quite obvious why.  She definitely gets the award for best lips.  Okay…best everything.  I say that every time, don’t I?  But it’s true.  I can’t help but fall in love with these newborns.  They are just so darling…I could almost take them home.  I would too if the parents would let me 🙂

Lovely Lyla

Little Lyla’s mama drove her down all the way from TENNESSEE just to get her photos taken…and I am so glad she did.  What a little doll!  I am so thrilled to add her to my portfolio of little ones.  Look at that face!  Like a little Gerber Baby!  This age, the sitting babies, are my favorite.  I know that I say this after every photoshoot…but how could she not be a favorite with eyes like that!  Thanks you guys for making the trek and I hope that you are thrilled with your photos…I will never forget how your little girl was sittin’ in that grass 🙂

Sweet Caroline

Did you ever hold a newborn girl in your hands?  A newborn that was so delicate and beautiful that it was like holding a doll made of featherweight glass?  This baby girl was that for me.  Simply gorgeous.  Makes me wish I had a little girl…so simply lovely.   And you can see why…her mother was drop dead gorgeous.  Thanks Jessica for your patience in getting your photos…I hope you love them as much as I do!

Handsome Henry

Henry was an absolute dollbaby.  I’ve never seen such a wonderfully easy going baby and it was such a joy to work with him and his beautiful family.  This kid won the genetic jackpot and they were the picture of happiness.  I know those first few days are especially hard with a newborn but they made it look oh-so-easy.  This shoot was especially fun because we got to run around with his big brother (Mom had two under two! Whew!) and Henry’s mom showed me the boy’s rooms – I thought I died and went to inspirational heaven!  The nursery was gorgeous (the last photo shows Henry’s changing table!).

Lovely Lydia

Lovely little Lydia came to me one chilly day a couple months ago and she is definitely my favorite little newborn girl.  Most of our time together she slept like a little angel – stretching out those long fingers and toes without opening an eye.  And her mom?  She looked like she had never had a baby.  Color me officially jealous.  Thanks you guys for letting me capture your little girl…she is stunning.

Miss Brinley

Little Miss Brinley was my first official newborn photoshoot as Katie Bower Photography and I couldn’t have started out with a sweeter little baby girl.  She was  totally enamored with her tongue the entire shoot and quite a few shots were taken of her with the mouth wide open and the tongue out exploring the world.  Sometimes it was licking the lips, sometimes just poking out the slightest little bit…she even had it peeking during her short little nap!  So cute!  We did manage to get some indoor family shots (after Brinley’s Daddy got home from work) and although it was fun to see this little family all together, really the stars of the show were her bright blue eyes.

Lilley & Maggie

I squeezed in a mini shoot with sweet little Lilley this past week.  We eeked out literally five minutes in the middle of the day (not prime shooting time) and this bitty rambunctious two year old kept me guessing but overall, I was proud of her for having such a fun attitude (even in the cold weather). I especially like the contrast between the drabby background of the winter woods and her fun spring time hat…she really is the flower in a photo of thorns.

oh and I also snapped a couple of her little sister Maggie…who I vote needs to be a model when she grows up.
